Most engagements are matched and confirmed within 48 hours of posting a role. For urgent requirements, many organisations receive suitable candidate profiles the same day. Once you accept a candidate, the engagement agreement is signed digitally and work can begin immediately.
Synera Lex supports four engagement models: contract (day-rate or hourly, for a defined period), secondment (where the lawyer is embedded within your team for a project or extended period), fractional legal support (part-time or as-needed access to a senior lawyer, often used as a fractional General Counsel arrangement), and permanent placement. You choose the model that best suits your organisation's needs.
Fractional legal support gives your organisation access to a senior lawyer on a part-time or flexible basis — without the cost of a full-time hire. It is particularly suited to growing companies, ASX-listed entities managing seasonal demands, and organisations that need General Counsel-level advice without sustaining a full headcount. Invoices are generated automatically based on approved timesheets at the end of each billing period. You review and approve timesheet entries through the platform, and consolidated invoices are issued directly to your accounts team. Synera Lex integrates with Xero for seamless reconciliation.

There is no mandated minimum, though most contract engagements run for at least four weeks. Shorter project-based or review engagements are also accommodated. You set the timeline when posting your role, and candidates apply knowing the expected duration.
Every lawyer on the platform holds a current Australian practising certificate. Profiles are reviewed by the Synera Lex team, and all lawyers must provide verifiable employment history and at least two professional referees. Our AI matching engine also scores candidates on specific practice area skills, AI tool proficiency and market-aligned rates — ensuring you see only the most relevant professionals for your needs.
Yes. Most engagements on the platform are either fully remote or hybrid. When posting a role you can specify your working arrangement requirements — on-site, hybrid or fully remote — and candidates are filtered accordingly.
